June 2008 PatientOS presented at Tromsø Telemedicine and eHealth Conference 2008 in Norway

The Norwegian Government established an Open Source Competency Center in 2007, the www.FriProg.no center. The Tromsø branch of the FriProg Center will focus its work on eHealth and on establishing a close collaboration with the WHO Collaborating Centre for Telemedicine in Tromsø. Together they will promote the use of Open Source Software to speed the uptake of open innovation thinking, tools and collaboration in the work to use ICT to improve health service quality and coverage in the world.

The workshop will present some of the world leading eHealth R&D projects, communities and ecosystems committed to the use of open innovation and open source software. The workshop will be wrapped up in a discussion on how to organize future work on a global basis. The workshop is sponsored by DriftIT AS (http://www.driftit.no/), the Norwegian Research Council funded project FriNett and by the FriProg Center.
